達磨寺の山門は元愛宕地蔵権現の山門（天保年間に再建）であったものを移築したものです。明治時代初頭に発令された神仏分離令により愛宕地蔵権現は愛宕神社となった為、寺院建築の象徴的存在だった仁王門が不要となりました。そこで、檀家である原田与惣右ェ門が明治５年に家財を投じて譲り受け達磨寺の山門として寄進建立しました。山門は三間一戸、総欅造り、寄棟、金属板葺きで桁行４間（７．３ｍ）、梁間２．５間（５．６ｍ）、高さ４間の堂々としたもので中山町歴史建造物に指定されています。
